Default De-cat exhaust system mk1

Hi,

I have a mk1.5 ford focus 1.6i zetec which has been looked after and has now fallen to me.

Due to insurance prices I cannot afford an st170 (the insurance is astronomical) so I am debadging and altering the car to have all the features the st170 has, i've done research on really what will be the best way to make it louder and release a bit of power if I am able without having to replace the whole exhaust system. I assumed a de-cat would be the best thing for me? I am okay with all the negatives of a de-cat.

I found this which I can install myself, worth? Let me know if guys, thanks. First post here, treat me nice.

It sounds like you are trying to make the car a bit more special to drive so from my own experiences I would replace the exhaust back box for a Sportex item just to make it sound and look better, replace the wheels with the ones from an ST170 with some good tyres and replace the seats with some RS items. This will change the whole feel of the car and although RS seats are expensive, keep the originals so you can resale them when the time comes. Only other mod worth doing is to replace the front hubs and brakes for St170 items and then possibly fitting lowering springs.

yes mate,

ive already fitted the 17" st170 alloys with yokohama 1048 medium compound tyres (yes i know slicks are terrible but two of the alloys came with slicks so thought id match the pair).
but yeah i love them, the seats are a great idea ill see if i can get some information about those, and the sportex back box is a great idea too. Lowering springs is something id have to do later on because insurance companies cry when you lower the car.

thanks man, appreciate it.
