Default Dragy box

Got ourselves a dragy today here’s the mk2 fiesta numbers with other cars to follow. The fiesta has 175 tyres so struggles for traction low down.

6.19 to 60 is pretty good in a real world scenario.

Yes 175’s on 7” wheels

Tried to time my S2 yesterday but clutch slip made the time meaningless.

I ran them on mine on Capri rims back in the early 90's. Not sure if you can still get them but you could get 195/45/13s back then too.

Got some times from my S2 today. The most non aggressive start possible to stop the clutch from slipping but at least we got some numbers.

Its a. m135. I think it does but I have too much mechanical sympathy for that. Maybe sport+ would have been slightly better as holds the revs longer in gear.... I can try that next time.

Not so much. As it seems you need to setup the phone to record each and every run.

Vbox is fit and forget, it just records everything, you don't need to do anything, or ever miss any runs either.

On a price point, yea it is good and cheap for people just doing basic one off tests now and again.

But all round the Vbox is a far better tool.

I know I've sen guys with the Dragy fucking about with it on the phone right up to the line almost when racing. So it must not be totally straightforward
A bit like the old GTech lol, they were a nightmare, but still a bit of fun.

100% agreed
God I remember my Gtech when it worked correctly it was great, but if I jolted it to much on launch it would give some bonkers figures, I did 0-168 mph once in 8 seconds in a 600 hp R32 gtr 🤣😂 lol bloody thing

Yes like most things in life you get what you pay for and in that respect the V box should be better but from what I’ve read the Dragy is still fairly accurate and a useful tool to compare. The app. Is really user friendly and it connects and work every time worth the Ł120 I think.

Tested son no.2’s Fiesta yesterday after his recent head and cam work and although 0-60 was slower (traction) it was nearly 2 seconds quicker from 60-100😳 Still his Golf R and son no.1’s Honda DC2 to test once the mapping is complete on his Link ECU

Dragy will be just as accurate mate ideal for what you want, pulls and look at times

I only need v box as I look at elevation, GS, and all the full plots of speed Vs time and speed Vs distance on my pc 👍

Had another play with the dragy box today. There’s a guy on YouTube (Calvins car diary) who times 20-70 to avoid launching and to stay legal for his channel.
I thought this would suit my S2 but alas I still had traction issues, hopefully this will improve when I change to NS2R tyres in the coming weeks.
Here’s Calvins times.

My S2 time 6.84. Definitely room for improvement

My 135i decent at 4.48

Son no.2 Golf R 5.29 standard map but all the hardware for a stage 2 ie decat, intercooler

Turbo technics turbo intake

And the amazing Eventuri air intake

Results from the MK2 ST engined Fiesta. Not as good as hoped but traction with 230 bhp and 175 tyres is not ideal.

I think with grip I should be even quicker mate, my best 100-150 mph so far is 3.1 seconds, but I have no grip issues after 100 mph so thats perfect pull

Had another play with the dragy after getting the escort mapped last week. Don’t think I’ll be worrying Scobby Slayers GTR or Cosworth any time soon but definite improvement.
There is still room for improvement as the launches weren’t the best and it revs so fast , yes a CVH😳😳 (compared to MFI) I’m hitting the limiter in every gear.

It’s 200@the wheels now on the Maxx ECU. Apart from some diy porting it’s a mechanically standard engine with added boost.
The 0-100 is 3 seconds faster than a standard 3 door!…… No wonder they got modified🤣🤣
