Default Cosworth oil filler cap removal

Just wondered if anyone has any tips please on how to remove my oil filler cap.
Trying to do an oil change and filler cap wont undo it just clicks just as it should when you do it up but this is doing it when you try to undo it, so mechanism inside must have broken.
Is it a cam cover off job.

Have you tried pushing down on it whilst undoing?
Also try lifting it whilst undoing.

I would get a new one first then get some pipe grips on it as it's sounding like it's busy any way . So with the pipe grips just crush it as you turn it and it should undo and check for any broken plastic . If it does brake up you will have to pull the rocker cover off

IIRC go can get hold of the bottom half of it with a pair or grips

If you can't force it off with grips etc then although it is more hassle take the cam cover off and get at it from inside. If it,s really jammed and you have to resort to butchering it at least you won,t have to worry about any bits going inside the engine.

All sorted thanks, if anyone else has this trouble in the future,
drill a hole through side of cap and out the other side, remove drill leaving drill bit in the cap...it locks the mechanism and can be unscrewed=)
