Default Valved exhaust silencers

Anyone used or using them? I want more bark from the 2.5 in the Mondeo but I also enjoy it’s quietness when just cruising.

Got some on my Humber there awesome, I've only got one backbox each side so with these open its open pipes and sounds glorious
I've done a filmed pull with stock exhaust IL do another one with open pipes once it's dry

Iirc about Ł50 each from China

That looks top job 👍 with the valves just in the open like that I’m guessing they are making a good seal? And by your reply they make a noticeable difference between open and closed?

with the Mondeo i’d like to be able to open the valves and still get flames out the tailpipes though 😬 I’m still a kid at heart 🤣 I’ve seen some whole mufflers on eBay that have an integrated valve, when open the muffler is straight through, but when closed they are correctly baffled.

I've tried to think of a way of using valves like you have but the only decent solution is to have them on the back boxes themselves, I could cut the OEM back boxes up and weld the valves inside and make my own valved box but it’ll no doubt be fairly crusty in there already 🤣

I was wanting to do this to my mk3 v6 mondeo but I never got round to it. Would sound mint I bet. Mine sounded good with a cone filter fitted to it.

I use one on the rally car but its an OEM Bosch that is controlled by my ecu that targets boost pressure. Exhaust leaves the turbo at 75mm and splits into two 50mm pipes, one has a box, the other doesn't but does have a valve that opens at a preset boost pressure.

Thanks guys

I cant believe how much engine they squeezed into the mk3 Glenn 🤣

That sounds like a good bit of kit mark, is it for DB limits I guess? I won’t be looking at an OEM Bosch one that’s for sure 🤣
