Default Cosworth help please

My 3 Door is currently messing me about.
Starts and drives fine, but it seems to be holding back/pinking as I accelerate above 1500-2000 revs.
If its parked and I give the throttle a little blip it seems fine, idles fine, but driving along under load it seems to hold back and almost misfire.
Brief description I know, any ideas anyone?

First thing I'd check would be the phase sensor in the distributor. Had similar issues years back and a new, properly gapped sensor cured it instantly

Jason that sounds very ignition related so think I would be checking plugs, leads, and distributor first. Had similar on mine years ago before changing over to a coil pack.

Thanks guys.
Ive ordered new plugs, distributor so will fit them and see how it goes.
When I was driving it a while ago it seemed to almost clear itself after a while as if once warmed up it was ok, could this point to something?
