Default Hose replacement - options/methods

Well the times come to replace 2 hoses I've been putting off. The 2 in question are to the oil cooler.

One comes from the bottom of the heater matrix to the cooler, the other comes from an inlet/outlet on the rear of the head to the cooler.

The question is can these be replaced without removing the inlet, or is there some bits that need to come out the way to be able to do the job.

ive highlighted in blue the 2 hoses but obviously there under the inlet.

this next image isn't mine just to show the hoses in question.

..did mine without removing the inlet plenum....its a bit hard but it can be done...for sure if you remove the inlet and throttle body it is easier for sure..

All done, 1hr 40mins.....not to hard to be honest after me thinking it was going to take half a day and lots of swearing...only removed the turbo heat sheild and inlet hose to the throttle body to gain access....like most things, if you have the tools the jobs alot easier.(and drop the coolant)

You are certainly going for it to get everything back to OE.

Had my headlining re-done a couple of years ago,it is the correct colour and material for my 2wd Saff. Very pleased with it!

Mine is the original Ford factory fitted re-trimmed. As long as your original headlining board is in good condition there should be no problem in getting it re-trimmed. Never heard of a fibreglass replacement before , I guess it is used if the original Ford one has got wet or badly damaged?

I guess if your original headlining backing board is no good and cannot be re-trimmed these fibreglass ones are a good alternative. I had no problem with my original one so did not need it.

Nothing wrong with mine, just wanted to get the old one out and the new one back in, in a day, rather than taking the old one out, taking it or sending it somewhere then waiting ages for it to come back.

Fair enough, as you say it can be done straight away if you already have the new replacement. I got my original Ford new one plus the 2 B pillars from a trimmer, had my original one taken out and replaced the same day and then got that one re-trimmed and sold it to another Saff owner.
