I've seen that program a few time. That Wayne bloke gets o my tits a bit.
No way not if it was cleaner but still 100% original
Its value is in it history and all of the marks and imperfections tell a story, if it was perfect it would be worth less for sure. Sounds wrong but ask someone in the game and I'm sure they will agree.

Makes sense I guess, I saw something the other day about a car museum that they said had the most expensive car on the planet, an old Jag xkss owned by Steve McQueen estimated at 40 million dollars value

Seen this after my last reply, but totally. If it was restored and mint it wouldn't be worth near as much.
Yep, seen few car programmes where they say market has changed, and more money in unrestored/original/dirty barn finds than the shiney blingy versions. Remember seeing a total basket case original MK1 Mini Cooper, it needed a reshell etc. etc and was full of bottles, but that went for thousands just because of what it was.
Most likely end up in a museum. Good, as it will get looked after but its supposed to be driven and enjoyed. Would be scared to drive something that valuable, iconic with the history and something that could not be replaced.
