Fiesta Track Car: Need Help!
Hi everyone!
I'm Tom, a French(I hope my English will be understandable) car enthusiast and I'm pretty new to the Ford universe.
I want to build my first track car and I need your advices since I have several options.
I have an opportunity to get an Rs1800 130hp engine from a Mk3 Fiesta Xr2i with Gearbox, ECU and complete loom.
My dream would be to swap this unit in a Mk2 Fiesta. I found some general infos on the web but I'm worried about heavy engine mount modifications.
And I must admit I'm a bit lost about all the Zetec engine family
Does it fit with Ford OEM engine mounts (even slightly modified)?
Secondly, I already own a Mk5 Fiesta powered by a 1.6 105 Hp Zetec/Yamaha engine. It has been daily driven and shows 120.000 miles at the clock.
I was wondering if it's possible to (retro)fit the Rs1800 in.
(I know the 1.7zetec swap from a Puma is plug and play but these units are hard to find here in France).
The last and easiest choice would be to find a basic Mk3 and bolt the engine but it's not as fun as in a Mk2.
Thanks for reading me! 😊
