I’ve got a 205 block Cosworth engine
it has covered 54000 miles and was removed from the car a few years ago and stored away properly
it has never been rebuilt and everything is standard size
The engine is completely standard
it has everything there
head is off for any inspection
I’m thinking of putting it up for sale for £5000
Does this sound a fair price ?

 

To much mate what does that include ? Look on ebay at the prices most have been on thier months I would say half 3k tops if you want it gone

But ​​​​​​​surely an unmolested original engine is worth a bit more

 

Heads go for around 1k that leaves you with bottom end my mountune bottom end rebuilt to 500 spec went for 2900 that was a 200 block, would you pay 4k for a std 205 bottom end that hasnt been rebuilt? You could get a a 205 and rebuild it for less than 4k that's all I'm saying I've been buying and selling yb,s a good while now and tbh what people are asking is abit of a joke and they dont sell I'd just put it on bay with a realistic reserve

 

for 5k it will need to be rebuilt

as above worth around 3-3500

 

I’d let it go as it stands for 3750
i think that’s a bargain for someone
