hi, just speaking to a mate today and noticed he had a s2 gearbox laying about and looked at the numbers/letters on the bellhousing and it said something like v/1.2
Then looking at mine it only says v/1 mine is a 88 s2, i havent changed the box, and i dont think its ever been out before i took the engine out...
Have i got a 3i box or something?!!

Better to check it for real.
On a car, jack up one front tire. Select neutral. Turn the wheel (the one in the air) by hand and you will clearly feel if there is a LSD in there. It wil be very easy to turn it slowly, but impossible to speed it up.
If the box has been separated form the car, one can just look inside from the driveshaft hole and see if there's a LSD or standard differential.
