hi all

need some help here where to go next

I suddenly lost sparks to cylinders 1 and 4
changed the coil pack but this made no difference
I have found there are only 2 coils in the pack and that 1 and 4 are fired together so I am guessing the signal that controls 1 and 4 is missing
where should I look next ?
I thought about the cam position sensor although I assume that as 2 and 3 run fine the sensor must be ok or am I wrong ?

Check wiring between coil and the edu. If that's fine expect a ecu fault.

 

What engine ?

I would start with continuity between the coil and ecu.

it is looking like an ecu fault

can I just swap it for one from a breakers yard ? will I need at least the key as well?

Yes, you will need the chip from the key as well.. You can stick the new chip into the old key to save messing with the locks.

Not sure on the mems control unit. But if you where at the scrap yard I would get the full set to be sure.


I would still check the wiring first.
