My speedo is jumping so I'm going to replace it but my current cable has this. The wires go connect to 2 others(cant see where they come from) and goes to the plug that Isbt connected to anything in the second pic. The car is a police spec(not sure if it ever was a police car though) so maybe its something to do with that but I'd like to know before i remove it.

If anyone can help identify its use that would be awesome.

 

Looks like some sort of electronic speed pulse...may have been an old GPS type this for sat nav as they need speed pulse or maybe data logging for police. Might be useful to someone who needs a speed pulse but you can just ignore it.

 

Its an electronic speed as said. It was fitted to some late model 4x4's H reg onward. The 2wd Dohc had the same fitted and also not used. May have been something to do with the fuel trip computers

Hi All, Thanks for the replies. Since its not plugged in to anything and i dont have a trip computer ill just take it as i dont need it. Plus love the race police car pic!
