Ford Focus (All Models)This forum is for discussion of all things pertaining to the Ford Focus Range that doesnt belong in the seperate ST & RS sections..
So we have a MK2 Focus from 2006. Its the 1.6 petrol zetec, had it about 10 years now. Recently hit 100,000 miles (about 109 now) and the rust is starting to show. The plan is to try and repair it this summer when the weather is nice to prevent it from getting any worse. Has anyone else had any experience of removing and repairing rust either on a Focus or rust that is similar to this. The rust is on nearly every door jam, either up the door or at the bottom as well as the front wheel arch. There is also some slight bubbling on one of the wings.
Thanks in advance!
Just seen the typo in the title, its a MK2 2006 (don't know where I got MK6 from...)

with rust really needs to be cut out and on bolt on panels like wings and doors simply swap them for better ones as save a ton of work, normally rust that bad indicates salt air and water so prevention should normally take place early in its life not after issues arise
I would investigate further before you start with the surface, remove rear wheel arch liners and check behind as they are a known weak spot on the mk1.
