It really is an utter disgrace the amount of classics getting stolen, and very rarely are the police getting any arrests. That too is criminal

It is a shame and to me I can't see its been specifically targeted ? There are'nt hundreds of Mk2 Granada's out there with the owners just waiting to pick up stolen parts so I think it was just a low life who saw a chance to steal it and hopefully it will be found in one piece and returned to the owner.

Possibly, it would be hard to see a huge financial gain from such a theft, and you'd hope it isnt that easy to dispose of after being stolen etc....but there must be some reason they are being targeted.

Or at the extreme end....one would hope it hasnt been stolen for banger racing or something along those lines.

That's a good point there. I saw a truck in my local petrol station with a mint looking cortina estate on the back painted up for banger racing. Guy said there wasn't a spot of rust on the car

Yes, but even the car in that photo is realistically only a Ł3-4k car that's fully legal and legit. Maybe on a miracle day Ł5k.

Stolen ? worth nothing. How do you move it ? Scrap value ? Parts value ? And really...where is the market for used parts where they could openly advertise to get rid of stolen parts ?

totally get where your coming from but the examples on show at the NEC in the owners club enclosure were top drawer and to someone who does not care where parts came from they could be priceless sadly

Those are the very people who should care where their parts come from.
