Default Sapphire 2wd heat shield Advise please.

my current turbo heat shield has no top cover and I noticed the heat is starting to melt the bonnet padding so I'm looking to replace it with something that gives a bit more protection.
i see you can now buy reproduction 2wd heat shields and some places are advertising Escort shields and saying also fits 2wd.
Turbo is a T34/63

Any one know which gives the better protection, as in more coverage of turbo exhaust housing and also if it's a escort shield do they fit well on a 2Wd sapphire or is it a cut and shut job to get them to fit nicely

melting the bonnet pad has only started since ecu upgrade as now has Anti Lag which is where I'm guessing the extra heat is coming from.

after playing around with heat shields for a while, i recommend this:

https://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/Fo...uct--1550.html

I had an issue where my rwd zetec turbo was getting 'hot' in less than a minute due to the proximity of the water rail to the turbo. I tried some of the fancy embossed heatshield and it did help a little, i could get slightly out of my village before it got hot. Next i tried titanium heat wrap on the water rail, this meant i could make it around 2 miles before it got hot! Next i made a cossie style heatshield out of folded aluminium and again it made a slight difference. Finally i got this turbo blanket and now i can get the 7 miles to my work and the stat is only just opening! I'm mega impressed with it at the moment. i've not done any serious mileage in the car, but my guess is that it would stand up to it no problem.

are they not prone to cracking the turbo as the heat cannot dissipitate?
