I think I made my stance pretty clear last night about how I felt about the abuse and how his humour was over the top BUT reading his replies he does seem to reliase that he went over the top and more importantly we have established that that kind of behaviour is not tolerated on here.

However I think alot of his posts were funny without upsetting anyone and he offered some really interesting topics as he has had alot of experience with lots of different cars and life in general.

So come on lets give him another go!

i agree, Lee. It's just his sense of humour, i find him fooking funny, but thats cos i have a similar sense of humour!

but as said, he has shown remorse and seems like he means it.

 

Others have been banned and not let back, so why should he be an exception?

one thing tho is his knowlege and advice about cars is top notch and he is not afraid to tell others how to do stuff or help in any way which i think he deserves credit for.

As for mcpikie, he was racist on here, pretended to be sorry, then posted more racist comments on another site, if you ask anyone on that site at the time you will find that i was the one on their saying how unacceptable racism was, i dont think comparing me for winding someone up and going too far with someone who genuinely hates people just for being a different skin colour is a very fair comparison.

Actually Martyn he was banned and given a second chance, which he blew by being racist again and laughing at people on here for believing he was sorry, so if its the same rules for everyone then thats not quite tieing in with your new "one strike and you are out approach" to me.

However at the end of the day, its your (the mods etc) forum and its up to you, but im just pointing out that you are mistaken in saying he was banned outright and that was that.

Personally speaking I think you should still be banned, and more importantly fucking ashamed at yourself for making such hurtful comments, whether they were meant to be a joke or not.

Yes im aware of sailing close to "the line" often which was why i had a signature tellign anyone who might be in doubt about my intentions the fact it was joking.

And as for saying that i dont do that in real life, why not ask someone who has met me cause im exactly the same in real life, if not worse, but in real life people see not just what you are saying, but the tone of how its intended, hence in real life i tend not to offend people the way i do sometimes on the net.

 

I think he should be allowed back in personally, everyone deserves a second chance, AND he aint denying he was harsh on emz, he apologised, she accepted surley thats end of story.....after all, it was between them and if they can forgive and forget I think everyone else should too.......

Comparing Chip and McPikie is unfair in my view, Chip seems genuinely sorry for causing offence and unless I see a thread from him on Roybacer calling us all twats and spouting Nazi propaganda, I believe he should be given a 2nd chance

Anyone that has met Chip (as I have) will confirm that he is sound, he takes the time to listen to what a person says to him and allways offers constructive and helpfull advice.

He has a wicked sense of humor that can apear abrasive at first, it takes a bit of getting used to, but he has livened up many a (otherwise dull) PassionFord meeting. Top geezer IMO


Martyn, then what about Phil (IMA/Boschman)???? He's has been banned several times, if that applied to him and he was banned for life - then this forum would be a duller place.

 

 

Ok, my view on IMA, hes been banned more than once then thats up to the mods who did it at the time. Personally if i banned someone more than once i wouldnt let them back on a forum i ran.
As for it being duller without him, to a point yes, but then it would be duller to some point no matter which member was banned. The forum is bigger than IMA lol
