Default FOCUS RS MK1 / poss standard

Good day all - had a little road trip planned to pick up some parts, clutch bled, everything running lovely full boost ,idle , cold start , warm start etc etc everything 100% no as light no judder no nothing quite proud as an amateur o a few scratches in engine bay when fitting engine but not worried about this - HOWEVER LOW & BEHOLD !!! as i turned the car to position it for a good clean the power steering high pressure pipe has popped out the union where it connects to the power steering pump - so so pissed off, just put a freshly built zetec, new shiny gold reflective everywhere now its all ruined - so pissed off! BUT i need to know (have ordered already) and already been told that prob the union is effed but just wanted to confirm this - is there any sort of o ring or any washer on the pipe itself? how can i tell if the pipe is broken worn? or if the union is broken or worn ...thanks for any help -
