Talking can you stick metal instead of welding it on a car?

General question, done a lot of welding on my old golf, but come to a part right up in the filler cap area thats hard to get to and would be a total arse trying to weld a small plate in, ive managed to powerfile the rot out which is only about the size of a 50p and made a nice fresh plate of metal up that fits flush.

so my question is instead of welding the plate in, can it be stuck in and what would you use to stick it? seam sealer? i also use epoxy primer on bare metal. reason i ask, im sure over on FT.com a guy done a restoration on a fiesta rs turbo by sticking some panels together, sure his name was gregg, was the red fiesta rst?

JB weld or liquid metal would do it and then cover the area in seam sealer. I am not sure how this would be with MOT so I would paint it after the seam sealer dries and then nobody should see it.

Bond it. Windscreen glue with the proper metal primer would be a good one. I’m sure there’s a proper bond body shops use

I have been considering using this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-van-b...y/221240120421

to bond on the valance of my metro but I'm undecided, it's the stuff you would use on a modern quarter panel etc, I like the idea because I could clean up the metal perfect and bond and seam seal at the same time so water can't get in,

If it's ain't structural then it should not cause
a problem with mot,s

there are a fair few bonding agents available now
and some can be as strong as weld
