Non Ford wheels but I'm guessing they are all the same? The wife has clipped the curb and caught one of the wheels fairly badly in my opinion, and I need to sort something before the water starts getting under the lacquer.
Options seem to be have it refurbed but no one offers more than a 6 month guarantee,
Polish out and lacquer the affected area
Or,
Sand down and polish the whole face of all the alloys and keep polished and waxed without any lacquer. Reason for this is down to a few stone chips and I can keep on top of it with an extra 15 mins on cleaning day
Lacquer often struggles to key to a polished surface on wheels. You can only refurb diamond cut a few times due to the amount of metal removed. I eventually had mine done in normal powder coat but asked them to make it is close to the normal finish as possible, trouble is you really need to have them all done.
Expect to pay around £90.£100 per 18 inch wheel to be re powder coated and diamond cut.
To be honest the cost is a consideration but not the main thing I'm bothered about I'm reluctant to have say 2mm from the whole face having them diamond cut if I can sand and polish it out in a localised way, I know they won't be able to do that on a refurb, I may polish the full face of this wheel and run it a month or two with no lacquer just polish and wax and see how it goes and if need be get it re cut

There is minimal damage compared to some kerbed wheels. If it was me I would take my time and do the repair myself.
Iv spent around an hour rubbing down the scratch to make it a little nicer for the short term. It’s not been lacquered and you can see where had been done when you look closer but I think I will remove all the lacquer at some point anyway.
Whilst the wheel was off I gave the calliper a quick paint to tidy it up a bit
Its not even noticeable now so I would leave it like it is.
I'm fairly happy with how it's looking but I prefer the alloy where I have polished it now to the diamond cut so I think I will do the full face when I have a bit more time
