Default Passion m135i

Had this for one month now and slowly acclimatising to it after 20 years of diesels. Range after a fill up is a shock to the system. It’s running around 370hp so has a fair turn of speed. It’s the 8 speed auto and had nearly all the options including m performance brakes and exhaust. I’ve fitted small wheel spacers and have ordered lowering springs.

Lovely car these and that 8 speed box is amazing. I had the coupe with the quaife diff and birds damper which makes a big difference as they can soften the suspension a bit with the better traction. I also ditched the run flats.

I really like this shape that you have and often wonder what a road car would look like with the btcc kit on.

I understand that they are now going to do an M2 with the v8 Engine.

Really like these, does this come with the n54 engine? If so that answers the tag what’s wrong with the focus rs

Nice looking car, I've seen a couple around lately on holiday and have actually looked at them in more detail.

Whats the buttons on the side of the seat, one of the upper buttons looks like its red but I think thats either me or glare on the picture rather than its colored.

Its interesting just how manufacturers are giving yet more gears in a car now, I took a dodge challenger out for the day recently (nightmare on the road due to the stupid width of it) and from memory I think that had a 11 speed auto.

It's mad isn't it, I had a brand new E class for a week a few months ago and that had a 9 speed auto. Although it never seemed to be in the wrong gear, not like my shitty ford powershift that never seems to get it right!

I do like these m135i's, there's one near me, dark grey with quite a few subtle mods. It looks mint.

I think it’s the n55 engine. My wife assumed I would buy a focus but after 6 years in a 5 series I wanted another bmw and needed an auto so she can always be in the correct gear 😂

Correct. Another essential option for me as we only have one car it annoys me having to adjust the seat after her (first world problems)

I feel your pain, my wife is 5'3 and I am 6'4. I have banned her from my car as it's got 8 way electric seats and of course she has to fuck with every single one of them!

My AMG merc had Mr and Mrs keys, my key auto set the seat, mirrors and wheel to my setting as I unlocked it and hers set it to hers...very clever. You MAY be able to get bmw to code each key, I think they def can on a 7 series.

Fitted Eibach lowering springs today went for 15mm so it’s subtle and hopefully still practical

Only 10mm at the moment but I expect a few more after some miles.

I meant the quality / stiffness, not the actual mm of drop.

Great cars these, did 10,000 miles in a manual and driven a lot of the autos too. So much bang-for-buck.

I've got a modified E82 135i Coupe at the moment, which I like. It's 600+bhp though!

Yeah, it goes pretty well.

It’s a standard, unopened N54 engine. DOC Race single turbo kit, Precision 6266 twin-scroll, Syvecs ECU, custom exhaust and uprated intercooler.

That’s it basically. It’s only pushing 21psi, so loads more left in it, but heard rumours they can throw a rod at this kind of torque, so happy as it is.

Cool spec and big power, do you run an LSD in the back?

I assume you run it with an air filter?

The early hatchback M135i is a performance bargain, thinking of getting one as a new daily next.

It runs an E-LSD as standard, which actually does an OK job. I have a complete E92 M3 rear axle, including plated diff, waiting to go on it.

And nope, doesn't run an air filter and hasn't done for around 10,000 miles. Recently had the compressor housing off and it's all good.

Gotcha,

My 135i had the Quaife diff which was a huge improvement, Birds found that BMW run the 135 very stiff to try and aid traction, when you improve the rear end you can soften the shocks and spring / roll bars and that vastly improves the ride quality and handling.

That M3 rear end will help a LOAD I am sure.

Is yours a manual? I assume the torque limits have been taken off 1st and 2nd that the standard cars have to control traction?

There is an improvement but it’s not night and day different. The noise is the biggest change. I had my exhaust valve programmed open but it’s back to auto now.

I did the golf tee mod on my 135 to hold it open but soon put it back to open.

After reading your thread I keep thinking about getting another 135 but I would try the hatch this time on a manual as I had coupe auto before. I like the idea of the mods you have done.

I have fitted the M performance rear spoiler and had it finished in gloss black to make it look a little different to every other one. It’s so small it’s borderline pointless but ithey are inexpensive and obviously fit perfect. I really liked the 3D design ones but at £600 + paint I couldn’t justify it but thinking about it the Ford RS spoiler I bought for my Capri back in the day probably cost more!
After a year of ownership I’m still enjoying the experience and still the performance impresses me.

Interesting! .....make sure you put a quaife or something in the back and then soften the suspension a bit, It makes a huge improvement.

Well I had my first problem last week. Tyre pressure, traction control,ABS lights every where.
Plugged in my Autel Elite scanner and front left speed sensor voltage fault.
£50 from dingbro and all my lights are off.
It is sorting my traction for me again and not the smoke machine it’s been for the last week. 😂😂
