Default Help With Identification of Engine Block

Hello to the Forum as this is my first posting. I have a cast iron 5 main bearing 4 Ford cylinder block coming to me claimed to be from an Escort or Pinto???? The ID on the block is as follows: All the information is attached or engraved along the bottom of the block with nothing near the block deck. The numbers "185", "200" or "205" are not on this block anywhere. Here is the information: Attached via screws above the sump line: 70HM6015BA. Below this code is "2.0", also attached with a screw, At the rear of the block is the number "2010" again with screws and a circle with the numbers "1 thru 9" with an arrow? pointing between the "7' and "8" The codes "T4" and "A2" also appear near the bottom of the block. The numbers "3T103791" and "4223 2G" are engraved on the front/rear of the block. I need to know what the maximum bore that this block would withstand and exactly what parts would fit this block? Could this block be prepped near the specs of a YB/or BDG? Thanks for any input and information!!!!! Jerry

Sounds as if it's a 2.0 pinto from a escort or cortina hence no 205 number on the side.

Pictures will help.

what do you want to use it for.

Default ID Ford Block #70HM6015BA

I am planning as using this block as a base for a NA Formula 2 engine. "YB" or DGB. " Would like to take it out to 92-93MM if possible. "200" and "205" blocks are not available here in the states. Thanks, Jerry

2 litre SOHC EAO used in European Fords and your 74 Pinto car. YB parts will fit it. YB has 9 bolt flywheel not 6.

Bore max depends on core shift and corrosion, but 92mm should be ok.
