I have an MK4 XR3i Cabby that I turbo converted last year. Fairly recently I fitted a Series 1 LSD Gearbox. But recently I am having trouble getting it into 3rd and 4th. The actual gears themselves work fine and once you are in, there are no noises and work as they should but for whatever reason there is very minimal space to get them into gear and you have to go in at a bit of an angle. If you do not get it dead on they are a bugger to get in. I took it to my local garage to get the linkage adjusted but when we moved it over a bit 1st was a total nightmare to get in. Am I right in thinking the problem must lie with the linkage and what can I do to resolve the issue?

I always undo the selector and get someone to hold the gearstick in the neutral position and then do it up there. It normally always works for me
