Default CVH leaking oil where dipstick tube meet block

Hi guys

Got a leak as above.

Firstly how does the dipstick tube come out, and secondly does it have a seal etc that may have perished ? Is it literally a case of screwing it up tighter ?

Cheers

Its friction fit so must be pretty bloomin loose if its leaking. That or you have excessive crankcase pressure so its finding the easiest routes out.

Should be able to just pull it out with a tug, clean it up and then put it back in with a drop of loctite near to hold it in place.

In there solid mate - no movement at all. I've put some of the green Loctite bearing adhesive round it, see if that solves it. Got a breather kit fitted and been on for years, nothing disturbed for years either so I'm hoping it may just be after 32 years it had a bit of a leak.
