Hi guys, I'm hoping someone can help. Whenever I lock my ST220 the alarm keeps going off. Well when I say that it's the indicators that flash, as I'm guessing the previous owner took out the siren to stop it annoying them. Now when I got the car the bonnet didn't sit down properly and I thought it might be the bonnet catch/switch, so I replaced that unit. I've subsequently found it wasn't that and the bonnet closes properly now.
When I put the scanner on the car it's showing door ajar codes for all 4 doors, and it won't let me clear the codes. But I can't think that it would be all 4 doors that would be a problem?
Anyone got any thoughts on what it could be or more tests I can do to track it down?
ps the central locking/remote locking works all the doors correctly, and the boot will lock and unlock on the remote too. The passenger front door does stick a bit when you try and open it but I've already replaced all the mechanism in there once because of that, although bizarrely it doesn't seem much different.
Any help or thoughts gratefully received as it's driving me bonkers.

I would have thought that if the doors were ajar you would have the door open warning lamp on on the dash all the time. When does the alarm go off, straight away or after a while? Do the indicators flash when you double lock?
I wonder if there is a separate control module for the alarm or weather it is all done through the GEM.

I've not checked how long after locking it does it, not very long I don't think. I just happened to see it the first time when it was sat on the drive locked up.
There must be a solution....
Is there a test mode you can do in to check whether each door is working as required?

How strange, not on my Mondeo but on our old Sport Ka we had i had exactly the same fault. The lights flashed and never made a noise but the siren was definitely not disconnected.
cut a long story short, it was the switch under the bonnet which you say you've already replaced.it was all wet,the connections had gone all green and shity. changed that and problem solved. Might be worth you double checking yours?

I'm still not totally convinced it isn't something to do with the bonnet, I'll be trying all sorts of things I think.
If I disconnect the bonnet switch wiring plug altogether does that mean it won't test for the bonnet switch or will it just lead to more issues?

I imagine it will give the same effect as the bonnet being open, depends whether it's a normally open or closed switch, I'm.not sure which tbh without looking
The bonnet switch on my old focus st used to keep telling me the bonnet was open all the time when it wasn't. I unplugged the plug and bridged acoss the 2 pins with a piece of wire, cured that!
