Default Transit connect no boost

Hi guys my transit isn’t boosting right! It is 1.8 tddi
it drives perfect with no lights on dash and does have a little smoke ever now and again under high revs!
it drives like there is no turbo to power it, yet u can hear the turbo spinning and whistling when driving! I’ve checked the pipes and replaced the front 2 pipes either side of cooler but it’s still the same!
any ideas lads

Check the boost hose that's near the fuel filter that goes onto the inlet manifold, usually splits underneath.

I’d like to know if you sort it because we have a 04 plate connect tddi with similar symptoms it will boost till about 2.5k revs then goes completely flat I’ve checked the turbo and it spins fine, revved it and can hear it and see it has no splits in hoses and the hoses swell where it’s creating boost, I’ve even had the turbo to actuator pipe off and it still won’t boost any harder or past 2.5k ?

Yes at the back left as you look at it from the front.

Could be an EGR fault, make up / buy a blanking plate, blank off the EGR and try it.

I have had all the pipes off and can’t seem to source a leek! I’m guessing there is a pin hole that only appears when under load! I’m gone be replacing all the pipes this weekend

I had all the pipes off mine yesterday and can’t find any leaks even the intercooler is leak free, looks like someone has already fitted the plate for the egr blank. So the search continues here, what about a blocked cat in the exhaust ?

Is there a little actuator on the inlet manifold. It looks a bit like a turbo actuator??? I've had one on the past where the small c clip has fallen off and the actuator rod had come off.

I think this fault might of been on a tdci though.

Get the injectors checked. It needs fuel to make boost.if there's a lot of leak back there's not much going in the engine and not much exhaust gasses to spin the turbo.

Will mot testers now be disassembling every vehicle's egr valve to see if a blank has been fitted?

Sorry for the long delay in reply! Bloody password wouldn’t work and wouldn’t let me reset it.... sorted now. The transit I sold in the end mate. Turned out to be a little hole in the weld of the inter cooler. Replaced it and it was running a lot better
