Default Radio quiet after battery change

2003 mondeo 2.0 TDCI. Ive changed the battery and the radio is super quiet. Ive tested the speakers and they all work using to 3&6 buttons to test and they work perfect on the test.

Ive inputted the correct code and the radio is finding channels and playing CDs doing what its suppose to do exept its mega quiet.

The balance, fade, treble bass etc... are all set right aswell

any ideas?

Sounds an obvious question but did you fit a less powerful battery as that’s what it sounds like

Is the volume okay when the engine is running? Have you tested what voltage is at your battery when the engine is on?

Is there an amp in the car?

Have you checked the earth is really clean on the battery? I wonder if there is a live that has been missed off the battery for something like perm live or amp for an aftermarket stereo or amp.

Ford radio's have a avc function I think it's called.
It turns the volume up as the speed increases.

Check that function also your bass and treble might have been maxed out hence higher volume this goes to 0 when battery is disconnected.

hope that helps you.
