Default 2.0 zetec in mk4 cab Rev counter wiring.

Hi techies, just wandering if I can get the rev counter working on my mk4 Escort cab with a 2.0 zetec with oem loom. I have found the tacho wire from the ECU, can I just join it to the rev counter or do I need some sort of diode ? Oh it's a 1989 mk4 with original clocks. Cheers

You might get away with just using a escort efi tacho connected to the tach output wire from the ecu.

From memory I think its the green wire on the back of the clocks.

Cool, thanks for the info. The original car had mechanical injection so I guess I need a later cluster ?

Ok I'm getting there now. What did you do about the rocker breather pipe ? Did you run it to an oil catch can or just put a filter on the pipe?. If you used a catch can did you run a single pipe or did you use one with an inlet and outlet ? Not sure where the outlet would go though.
