Question P/S Pump bracket to block?

Probably a really daft question! but what is the oil gallery for in the block behind where the power steering pump bracket bolts to and where does it go to?
Removed my bracket and noticed the gasket so got me wondering

yes it is Toby some 200 blocks have the hole some don't. Even seen some 205 blocks without them.
All aux shafts have a cam on them as far I can remember as they are a generic part.
