Anyone know if any of this is true ..if so this iB5 box I have that's out of an S reg mk6 escort 1.4 hatchback ..should be ratios "A" shouldnt they .

 

Do you think the ib5 would be able to cope with the midrange punch of an efr?

 

Not using an EFR I've gone GTX2867R gen2 ..and since my mates just done 360 on an ib5 and that's had some right pain ..im pretty sure the one I'm going to have built using Quaife or black line will do the job on 300 mate ..im just wanting to know if the ratio sounds right for the car it's come out of ..because if that the case then it will be a good choice for my Europe trip giving these stats on ratio "A" sat cruising just under 3k ..nice fuel economy.

Interesting to know
I never had any luck with ib5’s in standard form in my Mk3 Orion when lowered
I was forever blowing diff bearings in them
I did 2 boxes in 3 years and the car was only 8 years old

 

Yea I wouldn't dream of sticking a standard one in ..still chocolate at 300
