Just thought I’d pop in and say Hi.
Ive recently purchased my first ford, it’s got a few issues that’ll need sorting but I’ll go through all those in a proper build thread as I have other plans for this car as well.
I like to get stuck into long projects and do all the work myself, I’ll add some attachments of some of my previous projects to give an idea of what I’m planning for this carall my previous experience is modifying vag stuff (hence vag pics) so I’m sure there’s going to be a steep learning curve with a few silly questions thrown in

You can certainly weld, that’s a bonus when owning a ford.

I look forward to updates.

Cheers, I’m not a great welder tbh. It’s one of those things that takes a lot of practice and patience which costs a lot in argon. Still whenever I can I like to get some TIG welding in.

Ive already found a couple of spots that need plating. Like the passenger side rear wheel arch liner mounting by the sill. Then there’s the spare wheel well mount.
Im sure I’ll find more areas as I go though

Cheers

plans are sort the dents out then strip all the subframes off. Clean paint and under seal all the under side. Get it back to a rolling chassis and have a full respray in a different colour.
After all that is done I’ll start work on the engine.
I think first stage of the engine build will be a cheap eBay turbo with head spacer and either megasquirt or me221, learn how to map that (I’ve only mapped motronic me7.5 before)

once ive found my feet with that I’ll pull the engine again and forge it with low comp pistons and a bigger quality turbo.

I’m in no dream world of how much work it’s going to take to get done but spread over the next couple of years it should be achievable

Good stuff
I've absolutely no motivation to sort mine at the moment. I've still got a 221 and a set of itbs sat in a box next to my bed waiting to go on mine

Sounds like you’re ready for a awesome upgrade.
Haha yeah it is hard to get motivated this time of year.
Saying that I’ve been round my cousins body shop for the past few days straightening the rear wheel arches. I only have a few days left before I’m back to work so fingers crossed I’ll have them primed tomorrow.

Note to self don’t buy a car with so many dents in next time

As soon as I’m allowed to post up a build thread, I’ll add pics of what I’ve done so for
