Alot of people have attempted this swap on escorts and fiestas but have never finished.. so here is my fiesta. I picked her up last April.. I needed a few bits welded for it's mot .... It's been an emotional swap and is 95% complete. It runs and drives with all of the major fabrication done... It just needs some tidying up, paint and suspension ... Any questions please ask...
Where does one start.
so puma loom front to back .
Shortened puma gear links
Puma b pipe
puma tank and part modified fuel lines
Ford ka hubs and mk 3.5 front shocks
Power steering front wishbones
1.3 ka near side shaft on offside of the car... May need to be shortened but ok for now.
Modified pedal box.
puma radiator
Heater matrix flipped 180° and holes made in firewall
Puma wiper motors
Puma box mounted to the 1.1 cradle.
Most of the puma parts with fit with a little modification...
This is perfect, but only worth doing if the WRC external wastegate tubes fit under the bonnet. I'll have to test fit in order to find out.9Apps: VidMate & Mobdro
Update.
My car is pretty much done bar a few small things. Body work is completed. I've clocked up 170miles on her since Wednesday Hassel free, it's going for a mot on Thursday.
I chose a Honda color from a 95 eg civic, tiahaitan green bg-28p, it's a very hard color to capture correctly on camera, it looks blue on my phone buy the photos of the car with no doors were taking by my mate and are a example of what the color looks like in the flesh,
very happy with the car it's been a hell of a job and still more to do but it's in a usable state now. I've a good few future plans to fine fetal it, wheels, suspension, engine... Its fun to drive with balls of mid range torque, very nippy off the lights,
Nice one. I assume you mean NCT for Ireland. You'd want to make sure every i is dotted, and t's are crossed with that crowd. Some of those "gentlemen" get a proper kick out of failing something you put a serious effort into making a machine like this. I should know. I worked with a few of them before they moved over to the dark side.
Any hassle with the insurance since a Puma powered Fiesta never existed?
That's cool as fook mate..what a nice job the paint work looks.
Cheers Glenn, I did most of the prep on the body work and my mate just applied the colour and clear coat, I flatted the clear and buffed it my self, the final finish is nice a flat with minimal orange peel, few bits to do but she will get there, head is wrecked on what wheels to go with..

Thanks man. No no Hassel with insurance, she was ncted last year on the 1.1 engine after some welding and flew it, it shouldn't be a problem this year as alot of new suspension abd break parts have been fitted, it wont fail on much tomorrow evening,
Great stuff. Best of look with the test. I'm sure she'll fly through with all the work you put into it. I'm a bit off any test myself. Hoping to get it sprayed during the week in this good weather.
Were you ever tempted to do a sleeper look to it? Some lads would get some shock if they got roasted by a "1.1" Fiesta.
Where abouts in Ireland are you?

How thing man. Ah she went down on a few silly things but nothing major, passed all the machines. I got the hardest tester tongton 😫😫 but I have a fail sheet so easy to rectify, it will stay sleeper enough but ther is naff all bar your shadow to dice up this way.. I'm in Dublin where abouts are you? What do you drive?
Aw, pity it failed. But at least once it's nothing serious or expensive it's not too bad. She must be a beast on the road.
I'm in Tipp. I have a 1990 XR2i, but this is what it looks like right now. So a long way to go,but it's near time for paint, and then put it back together. Probably next year by the time I get it finished, but would be worth it.
That's it little bit more work is all, it's nippy enough. I'm not happy about the way it turns into a corner as the non p/s rack are sluggish . Plans are a street ka rack and steering column + escort break master cylinder. Get her out for a few track days this year .
Savage man. A Xr2i is a rare sight on this side of the water. Nice one get her done but take your time it will be worth it all in the end .

What's more is she was born here, not imported. Would think there was not too many bought new here.
You've got good plans ahead for your Fiesta. They were not known for their handling prowess alright. The few upgrades should help a nice bit . I'd bet as it is it gets well noticed on the road. A MK3 Fiesta is scarce, never mind one in a colour as class as that.
Hi mate, I have an 1.1 shell with full xr2i/rs turbo kit on it and someone has already done the puma swap, I'm struggling with driveshafts as the puma hubs have been fitted! I'm guessing my only option is to have the puma shafts shortened to fit the puma hubs now? Also how did you join the puma fuel rail to the fiesta fuel lines? Mine are leaking slightly and I'd like to sort it out! Thanks mate!
Hello mate seen your conversion photos I have a mk3.5 Ford Fiesta 1.1 and a mk5 fiesta 1.7 puma looking at putting the puma engine in the mk3. There is just a few things I am stuck on. First being where do I bolt the top engine mount on the car as standard its on the back also is the dog bone mount the same or is that different too

Use mk3.5 or ka shafts. Drivers shaft needs to be shortened by 20mm or so. I also uses the puma tank and lines. Lines need slight modification at the bulk head

The mk3 gearbox cradle will bolt straight onto the puma box.. You will habe to cut out a puma mounting platform and weld it into your mk3.
