Bang Bang Said My Cossie
Yep, when I hit full boost she goes bang, and I mean bang! Basically, when the engine is under load and I floor her there is a loud bang from the exhaust and it feels like I just hit the brakes because the engine goes dead. It's almost like it's hitting a boost limit. A load of dark grey/black smoke came out the back aswell. To me, this says it's an ignition fault, but as it's dark there's no point in me looking tonight. First thing I will do is check the plugs to see what's going on, but after that I'll just check anything that is ignition related. Any ideas?
sounds like overboost limit?
does it happen in higher gears? what boost do you see?
maybe worth trying lengthening the actuator rod a few turns (to back the boost off a bit) to see if the problem goes away?

Shouldn't be a boost limit because it's has a stage 3 chip and it's ran fine just lately.
CosRush, that's exactly what mine is doing. I booted her in 2nd and it was coughing and spitting before I backed off, but in 3rd where she is under more load it was just one big bang then I backed off immediately. I'm gonna go out there in a mo and have a look. She seems to be running fine, it's only happening when I floor it and it hits big boost at around 4000rpm.

I found the problem right away. The crank sensor plug had worked itself loose. I guess everytime I booted it the plug actually came apart causing it to completely die so when the engine cut out the 'braking' force was enough to let the plug slide back in so the engine started running again. I don't know why I even thought of checking the plugs because if it had been them surely it would have just misfired. Just aswell I went for the crank sensor plug first.
