Hi guys, I've got an ST220 I need to pick a new wing on, but I need to take the sideskirt off, or ar least one end of it, to be able to replace it.
Anyone know how it's attached/how you get it off?

it's glued on with windscreen sealant type stuff
it's virtually impossible to get it off without damaging one thing or the other unless you take hours to do it
most garages i know of repair the wings rather than replace them as it's cheaper
but if you want to remove the wing, the ST wings are specific to the ST in the shape that goes around the side skirt and the flare of the arch

I've got the right wing off another ST, but need to get the skirt off (and on again).

Oh well, I'm used to doing crap jobs on cars now, goes with the territory, I have actually got a windscreen removal wire so I'll give that a go, hopefully I might not have to take it all the way off to pass the bit of the wing through that goes under it. No doubt it'll be a pain in the arse, but that's the way it goes, worth it for the car because it's a belter, massive spec car, low miles and low owners, and the engine is so quiet you wouldn't believe.

Got electric everything, satnav, rear audio controls, parking sensors, xenons, even electric sunroof which I've never seen before on an ST, 82k miles and 2 previous owners.

Sorted it, just got the sealer off far enough back along the kit to get the wing in out, very small crack in the skirt that will bond up and it's not in a noticeable place anyway, result!

Nice looking st and a good spec. Always wanted one of these after driving one of my customers one đ went like fook, he had had it remapped. Only problem like u say a lot of them a riddled with problems and mega mileage, been looking at st220s (fell in love with them when they first come out)
Have a look at V6 zetec s. Like ive got. The 3ltr ones are very rare,i think there only about 200 bhp compared to a st220.
Jag has variable valve timing on their Duratecs. They're 2.5's made 200bhp and the 3.0 made 240bhp. The Ford engines seem to lack low down grunt and the power is very progressive. The Jag has more grunt low end, pulled harder over a wider rev range but isn't as peaky. I know the 3.0 can be remapped to around 260bhp too.
If I had the time and money I would love to build a four wheel drive ST220 estate with the Jaguar engine and running gear for a daily.
