Default Anyone price this yb lump

Evening all

Just after abit of advice on an engine that I've been offered and looking for some opinions on what you think it would cost to build or what this one is worth?

Any info most appreciated.

Spec is:

200 long studded block with 0.5 male Pistons with valve cutouts.
Ported and polished head with bd10 and bd14 cams
Double valve springs
Wrc head gasket
Gtx3076r turbo internally gated
Rs500 eight injector setup
Omex 710 engine management with loom
Updated oil pump including external oil cooler
Big wing gated sump
All new gaskets etc.

Engines only been run in so virtually brand new and was engine dyno'd at 512bhp.

Cheers.

If you had to buy all the bits and have it built I bet you would be in for over Ł10k (maybe more quite a bit more) but a second hand engine is hard to price. I once offered someone about Ł5k on here for an engine advertised for Ł7,500 and he got the arse saying I had offended him....I tried to explain that an offer is better than none at all.

Unknown, old and standard engines can go for over Ł3k.

If I bought it I would want someone like Mark Shead to strip it and check it then put it all back together for peace of mind unless it was a known company builder and they are willing to put their name to it being a good engine. It's a lot of money if it breaks.

There is various receipts there and it was built by a known guy and the company has said they they will do me a written guarantee that once it's in the car and mapped if it's not what they said it was they will refund my money.

There not a Micky mouse outfit which is the only reason I'm considering it.

Yeah agreed, like I say that's the only reason I'm considering it. It's abit of a package deal I'm looking at with a quaffe box and quaffe diff. Be a nice setup for my next little project

The engine would owe me Ł5500ish in the deal, that's complete with clutch, flywheel, alternator etc and the omex management. I thought that was a good price.

I would agree, that package is comfortably worth Ł5-6000 providing the engine is built well and by the sounds of it that's the case. Well worth it as it would probably cost close to 10k or more to build fresh.

I should imagine the gen rs500 inlet is probably worth a few quid on its own which again makes the deal sweater.

Is there much benefit having the 8 injector inlet on a setup like this or would a hart inlet with 83lb Siemens do the same job??

Sounds like a very good engine ,well built and over 500 bhp ,for that money has got to be a real bargain. There is no way you could build it up yourself for that money. The 8 injector set-up is a well proven route and I would probably keep it.

I'm doing another touring car rep so thought the 8 injector setup obviously gives the power but will look the part on the car so win win.

Seems a good price rich, when pricing an engine i'd factor the head height and what it would cost for a head of that height/condition and also block bore ect.

Works out a 3rd of what the 2wd engine on here is forsale for

Nice spec, the only downside is the over bore, be sweeter if it were standard, but they are getting very hard to find.

Other questions would be any grind on the crank, and whether its a 2wd or 4x4 head, and what depth it is.

Is there a down side to the 2wd head?

Although it would cost on machining work and new pistons, but liners could always be fitted to being it back to standard bore?

The 2wd head has less meat in the waterways so more prone to corrosion, the upside is it has the mounting for the turbo damper unlike the 4x4

Also the early 3drs have smaller holes for the head bolts.

Like anything that evolves then the newest version is the best as its had the bugs ironed out.

I believe the latest brand new castings are a hybrid of 2wd and 4x4
