Dunlop Direzza imo are the closest to slick performance but don't last long and break up if pressures fall.

Michelin pilot spot cup 2 is fantastic and last a long time, very stiff side wall.

Toyo 888r brilliant tyre.

All above will be great, don't go cheap and watch your tyres pressures, measure when hot.

R888R are the replacements for the R888
I prefer Kumho V70.

Toyo R1R on my Escort. They are between the T1R and the R888

I have Federal 595 RSR on my Sapph. Very good value for money. Not as grippy as the Toyo, but much cheaper.

I'll just reiterate, Direzza's are one of the best road legal semi slicks you will get. The grip on them is unparalleled.

I currently run Yoko AD08r's on my track car. They preform well from cold, warm up quickly, and are very hard wearing (wear rate of 200)
the nankang NS2R's i had on previously weren't too bad either. They took longer to warm up and felt as though the grip dropped off when they got too hot (wear rate of 120)

it really depends what you're using the car for. If you're using it on the road alot, Federal RSR's will suit it as they can deal with water very well.
R888R's are also a fantastic tyre, but there have been alot of pictures plastered around Facebook where the sidewalls have begun to fail very quickly. T

Assuming the vehcile they're going on is the one in your signature, you could probably get away with using one of the softer compound tyres such as Nankang Ar-1's and R888R's as you're at a massive weight advantage compared to a normal car.

Be interesting to see how you get on, I need similar size to your fronts all round. I used to run 225/45/16 on my Carrera 3.2 track car in the dunlops but it was a while ago.

They look proper don't they, I bet they stink of release agent though?

Is that a nice aquarium I see in the background?
