Default Fiesta mk6 1.4tdci EAC fail

Hi, new to the forums and I know from extensive googling that there are a million threads on various forums about this issue but none of them seem to have helped me.

My car went in to have the timing belt/water pump done, the car was fine when it went in but when I went to pick it up it was flashing EAC fail on the dash permanently and in limp mode. The mechanic wanted £600 to take it to a ford specialist after a few days of no luck with it. I decided to take the car back and try everything from the various threads.

I have cleaned electrical connectors, checked back the wiring, cleaned the EGR and fitted a new cam position sensor.

I have had 3 seperate mechanics look at the car since with 3 different answers.

a diesel specialist has just told me it needs 4 new injectors, new glow plugs and a crank position sensor which obviously just seems like a lot for all 4 injectors to randomly fail.

one said he thinks the timing is out, could this cause an EAC fail?

I'm at my wits end now and it's stressing me out. I've paid £200 in diagnostics and a bit more for odds and sods like the cam sensor and I'm no closer to even isolating the fault let alone fixing it.

the car starts intermittently but the eac fail is constant. It idles roughly and is basically just running like shit. Any help or pointers in the right direction would be a God send.

thanks for any replies and sorry for another EAC thread
