Koni suspension
Hi what makes koni so stiff? Is it the springs or shocks? I'm on -50mm full kit have had it for 7 years and I'm getting a bit fed up of the bone shaking ride quality. Ideally want to keep it around the -50mm ride height as it looks good. Was looking at bilstein dampers with rally design -2" springs. I've heard cobra springs with koni shocks are meant to be good as well? Any other recommendations?
thanks
thanks
I have Koni shocks and used to have about 50mm pi springs on which was a hard ride but I changed to 35mm Spax springs which lifted the car up a bit but the ride was more comfortable, it's the lowering springs not the shocks

ive just removed my top adjustable konis with the koni sport springs .
they are clatterey knock ya teeth out to be honest but they have done about 10 years on the car
and no signs of leaking or wear other than the yellow powdercoat flaking off

Front shocks are no longer available from most places as Koni don't make them anymore. However, some people have had luck trying online stores in random countries like greece etc..
As for the ride. If you're going to drop it -50mm it will be bumpy and crashy regardless. That sort of ride height will also throw your geometry out the window without all of the correct adjustable parts.
Cobra springs offer excellent ride quality, but in my case they didnt offer the ride height quoted. Their -30mm srpings were actually only about a 10-15mm drop.
I ended up buying some "kilen" -30mm springs just to check the ride height (as they were so cheap) and ended up finding them just as good as the cobra's when it came to ride quality.

The outlaw motorsport are gas kyb shocks with custom made springs. They're spot on, got a set on a Mk2 fiesta base model I've been restoring with 50mm drop and rides really well
Not loads of miles mate i brought them all new complete koni sport kit from burton power ,
