Default mk1 focus 1.4 to 1.6 swap

hi all, im hoping to swap my 1.4 for a 1.6 with 50k less miles and hopefully no need for a clutch as mine is slipping, also less worry with the cambelt. current engine has 123k on it.

i have been reading a thread on here about it from some years ago that suggests it does bolt straight in, im going to get an ecu and matching key also.

can i anyone give any pointers or anything re the swap.

thanks

Yes, it's the same engine just of larger capacity.

Cheers Martin, guess I'm just after some reassurances haha, I've got a mechanic lined up who is skeptical with my references to forum chat haha.
how worried should I be with the electrical/starting issues ? I'm getting an ecu and key and barrel, hopefully ecu is correct for the year of engine. I'm not sure how the immobiliser will behave ? Do I even need the key and barrell?
cheers

The transponder in the key is paired to the ECU (PATS). You don't need the barrel, but you will the ECU for this along with the mapping.
