be careful with ik plugs..on my car i lost the tip on one of them..they are good but very sensitive....for some reason my car likes the old 071c..

 

071c for me too! 530bhp. The car doesn't like IKs. They die quickly.

 

071 plugs aren't what they used to be , you ll need to by a box of 10 to get 4 that actually work
even then they wont last any time
that's my experience with them anyway
I use ik 31 plugs now , never any problems

 

Yeah the 071 s are terrible now and have been so for the last 3 years. you be lucky if you get two that work out of four!

Just spoke to the guy that built my engine, and he said standard or the escort cossie platinum plugs, anyone run these?

 

I wouldn't ask who built your engine, i'd ask the chap that set it up

 

btw..have anybody tried Brisk spark plugs?

 

The best plugs I have found are the Autolite Racing AR3932 and AR3932X.
I have a Stage 3 Running 21psi and have tried 071's NGK Denso Champion etc. all of which burn up or need regapping frequently. Then I found that the Autolite Racing AR3932-AR3935 (heat range - cold to hot) are identical spec to the 071's due to the fact Ford used to own Autolite. The AR3932 etc. are much better made with a solid tip (no more pulling it off with the boot), and nickel coated, so easy on our aluminum heads. The ones I like the best, having run them for 2 yrs with no issue are the AR3932X NASCAR plugs, available on eBay for about $5 a plug. They have 4 ground points and the gap never changes. Highley recommend them!
