I'm same searched hi and low for a standard set of clocks for my mk4 rs turbo and only set are on eBay at 200 ..wtf

 

It's one of the reasons my ERST has got a zetec in it now. Wanted to go EFI but got fed up of people trying to milk my wallet.

Its messing with peoples attitudes as well. I tried selling some RST parts at very resonable prices during my zetec build, and all anyone asked is "whats wrong with it?" as it must be broken/no good because it's too cheap.

 

There is a lad in Blackpool who usually has loads of parts on the shelf, do you want me to ask him for you?

Totally agree when I showed interest in the car I've bought I had some plum on the post telling don't bother going it's sold ..turns out he also threatened the seller ..I told him to ring him back to come view it ..I've had flattened the little tosser ... rs world has gone mad

I think I have a lot of bits plus an Orion ghia for spares.
I have thrown out 88 & 90 spec clocks before as they are worthless.
Needing a few parts,Facebook is useful for some parts.

 

people think because its a classic the parts are worth classic prices as well. Scrapyards don't get in older cars now as most have either been scrapped or stored away so the supply is drying up. Its a shame, some of the best fords i've had cost me absolute peanuts or been given to me but I know i'll never have another escort/sapphire due to the cost and parts supply problems. Ruined it for me unfortunately.

 

He is gonna get back to me as he knows he has efi sets but not sure what mfi sets he has.
