Thanks to my new alloy radiator purchased this summer the temps on my zetec turbo have been perfect. However, now the cold weather is settling in my running temps are between 75-80 degrees.
Is this too cold?

What is your running temp during city driving? Is it the same or bouncing back to normal? If it goes to normal your thermostat might be stuck partially open

If I put the car through it's paces I can get it to increase to around 85-90. However when I stop boosting it will sit around 75-80 again.

This is mointered through a VDO temperature gauge mounted before the thermostat.

So even when sitting in traffic your temps are sitting around 75-80? Do your fans kick in at that temp?

Turns out the gauge isn't the most accurate. It is sometimes 5-10 degree's out.
Had it checked against the managements engine temp sensor.

I want a accurate gauge, might have to be a stack unit.

I dont know whether its the gauge or the sensor or both. In saying that there is nothing to say the managment temp sensor is 100% either.

My zetec turbo runs cold in this weather also, only way to sort it is block part of the rad off with some plastic ect, on a zetec turbo, running cold is a nice problem to have trust me lol
