Cossie rev counter..
My rev counter goes mad when I accelerate hard leaping up past 6k on off the scale!! I've changed the counter with another one but it still does it. Anyone know what else it could be???

very common problem on the sapphs, its caused by a stray signal getting in to the rev counter wire (the green one at the coil) and is know to be caused by bad earths in the loom and possibly the ignition amp and the 3 block connectors on the bulkhead,
best thing to do is remove and clean all the earths especially the one on the inlet manifold plenum, make sure the 2 halves of all the block connectors are pushed tight together, disconnect and reconect the ignition amp connector a couple of times to get a good connection, and check all connections on the coil for fraying and loosness

Hi there - just wanted to thank everyone who replied to this. I finally got a chance to look at it and after 3 months of being totally p**sed off with the rev counter - it took all of 10 seconds to push together the 3 multiplugs properly and now it works perfectly!!! I can't beleive I played around with it so much when it was so simple!
