Default Daily Duties

Anyone using they're RS Turbos as daily drivers. I had a series 2 a few years back with usual mods, piper cam, full front intercooler, cossie turbo etc around 200 bhp and once i replace old worn parts it was a good car which i regret selling so much so id like another as a daily but are they still a viable option for this,opinions please.

most of the issues that stopped people using them as dailys have been sorted over the years and documented so as long as you get a good maintained one I don't see why not.

I use my s1 as a daily also used it to do a 440 mile round trip every week for 18 months when my partner still lived in Scotland and only problem I had was a faulty alternator

In theory there's no reason not to use one as a daily...

Problem is there easy to twoc, rust was always a issue so you'll have to keep on top of maintaining it.
Replacement panels are harder to get hold of so if it has a slight knock could be off the road for a while to source parts.

Mine was my daily for 2 years straight a couple of years ago, until I bought another car but still kept the RS. Just used the RS once every few weeks then....

... Was planning on using it regularly again now, but got that bloody fuel metering unit issue now! (See other thread) ... Probably because I haven't been using it regularly

Forgot to say, only things that needed doing was new starter (15min job) then was back on road everyday again
