Default Mk3 Fiesta Hillclimb/Sprint Car Build

Hi everyone , This build thread will be of my Mk3 Fiesta witch will be running a 1.6 cvh engine. The plan is to restore / repaint and build it up for Sprints & Hillclimbs over here in Northern Ireland. I bought a shell project with engine and some parts, the rest is up to me to gather up as it progresses . So far I have stripped the rest of the shell out and it's off to the blasters to have the engine bay and floor blasted as it was stripped and left outside long before I bought it. This is how it arrived .

The shell came with lots of parts like coil overs front and rear ( but on inspection there not worth fitting) so I will need new ones all round
The engine is a 1.6 CVH Scholar built engine, tho i'm not sure of the build spec yet, also came with a 5 speed straight cut gear box, no LSD

The next stage was to strip the rest of the shell out ready for the blaster to get the floor and engine bay cleaned up ready for some prep work.

Some parts look a bit scrappy in round the floor & engine bay but it's just where the last owner was stitch welding and it was just left like that with no primer = rusty

Meanwhile the shell is of to the blasters I'v started to clean up the rear axle, firstly be stripping it completely for painting new bushes and i'v decided to do a discs brake conversion while i'm at it.

Some new Powerflex Performance Bushes

Rear axle all painted & new bushes fitted.

Okay thanks for that, I knew they were Leda but I was told they weren't worth it, but I may send them over to get a price.

Speak to Mark RS on here, he'll tell you whether it's worth it or not. He has Leda on a couple of his cars.
