Default Escort Cosworth RS Replica

Hi All,

I am new to the Forum and bought my First Ford and got a little Project going. Any help from the Forum with Upcoming Issues & the Best way to go about this would be Appreciated.

So I have got a Ford Escort Cosworth RS Replica. It was a bit of a Barn find and has just been sat for about 6 Years.
It has the Escort Turbo RS Engine. It also Appears to have a Flame kit as there is a Spark plug Plumed into the Exhaust.

Let me know what you think, I will keep you updated with the Build

So this is the Update for all the work we have done & are doing currently

- First off got a good clean try get it back to the right colour!
- We have replaced the Alternator Belt, Wish Bones, CV's, New Brake Lines & Fuel Lines.
- When we took it out for a Test spin see how it drove, It was pumping out a lot of White smoke and looked like Headgasket was on its way out and wasn't boosting.

- We have taken the Head off and has been sent off to get everything it needs doing. We need to get a New Head gasket kit ordered if anyone can recommend would be great.

- The Turbo is has quite a lot of play inside the Unit so will need a Recon or Replacing so again if anyone knows the Best way to do this for not a Fortune would be greatful!

Once the Engine is Rebuilt we will be taking it to gets its MOT and get it on the Road, It is Currently running a Straight Pipe Exhaust with a Small Backbox. Uprated Intercooler and Aftermarket Air Filter. Uprated Oil Cooler.
Any ideas what sort of Power we could be looking at once fixed and with a Map?

standard ford head gasket is best. head bolts will be needed to replace as stretch type.
turbo rebuild at someone like universal or owen or cr turbos should be similarly priced.

both nice reps, I did think about getting an escort one years ago. I only ended up with a rs turbo rep.

First one looks like a good base, space the wheels out and get a escort style back box and the other escort bits for the outside and it will look a lot closer to how the real deal looks.

Thanks for the Comments Guys!

So we have got the Head back on the car and all timed up. Turbo has just been sent off to be Refurbished. Getting Fixed by Midland Turbo's. Hopefully should be back with me early next week.

Hopefully should be ready for the MOT in the Next couple weeks! Excited to get it on the Road!

Although not sure how long I will keep it as I currently have a C63 and a Westfield and running out of Space on the Drive!

If anyone would be interested in it when its all Finished let me know as it will probably end up on Ebay before the end of the Year haha

I'll keep an eye out for this (live in knaresborough)

I'll be the bloke staring at it from the black 3dr or blue transit with saff vents in the bonnet.
