here we have for sale by auction my trusty escort van. one previous owner, it was off the road in dry storage for ten years until i purchased it. its had a full service, fluids etc since then and it pulls like a train now. good solid engine, ive pulled cars on a frames and the odd trailer every now and then, but mostly its been used as a weekend motor, to get me to and from the golf course. its not let me down since the day i brought it home. mot sailed through no advisories, and previous mot history suggests mileage is legit at 99k (and counting)
being an old ford you would expect some rust, but aside from some bubbles here and there on the arches etc, its a solid little van. sills are like new!
interior is standard, it was a work horse as previous owner was a window cleaner that folded, so could do with a freshen up, new doorcards etc.
no radio in the van, dash is mint, has no luxuries in these older models, winding windows etc. ITS A CLASSIC! i insured this van on my classic insurance policy, and it cost only £2.50 for the year!! (plus 25 admin fee) very good mpg too, over 300 miles from a 50 quid tank. ive put a couple of thousand miles on it since buying, on motorways and domestic roads.
only thing it needs done is a rear shock, i have bought two new shocks that will come with the van.
i also have two different roof racks, both rhino, one is separate bars, the other is a full size one piece bad boy, both good solid racks
really not many of these facelift models about now, try and find another one! mostly mk5 or mk6 left now, so come grab a bargain!
No reserve! it goes for what it goes for. i do have it for sale elsewhere, so reserve the right to end early.
Cash on collection only, cash offers to end early also welcome.
any questions heres my number. may be interested in a swap
I wonder how many 'BT grey thunder's' are still road worthy. BT first purchased the diesel version of the Escort van in 1989 with a delivery of 550 vehicles. By the time production ceased in 2002, BT had bought 32,680 Escorts. I've asked the BT garage at Watford and they've not got any old spares
