Default Water getting into Focus boot

Hi..I have a 2006 focus,,I needed the spare wheel last week, and the tyre and underneath was well wet..After some checking,I could see it had come from the top part of the boot, and ran down into where the spare wheel is.I had a look online,it seems to be a problem with focus cars..Any owners here have the same problem?,,thanks

The leak usually will be coming from either around the real light unit, from around the boot hinge or there will be a gap between the rear quarter/boot and roof panel junction that will need sealing as it cracks over time.

have the same problem with a 2003 Focus RS. We thought we'd try new rear light seals, but Ford don't list just the seals, you have to buy the whole light unit!!!
Did wonder about getting a sheet of the same foam material that they make the seals out of, but I don't know exactly what the stuff's called as there's many different types of foam available.
Hadn't thought to look at the two other locations so we'll give them a try

Thanks for the replies...I was offline for a while, and when I got it sorted,I had to mail admin,,Forgot the password..Yeah,I have been looking on youtube, there are loads of videos about the problem of water in the Focus boot..Its good and dry here now,so would be a good time to pour a little water in different places,to try to find where it is coming from...

I had the same problem and took ages to sus it out.
Where the light screws to the body there is a grommet that has a foam back that push fits into rear quarter. They Persish. Mine was a 52 plate car and happened when it wasn't even two years old.
I ordered new ones. Ang guess what they had changed the foam to a rubber.
If you want a cheap fix take them out and seal back in with mastic.

Cheers
Ian
