Picked it up today:

The speckle in the paint is unreal:

I asked the dealers not to touch / wash / valet it as it's covered in fallout and crud from it's train trip from Germany - I'll give it a full detox wash tomorrow all being well so it stays swirl free from the off.
Inside was still as it came off the transporter:

I expressed an interest with my dealer last February and paid the deposit in July. It's been quite a wait.
I know lots of people don't like them - too many doors, a cylinder short, etc etc etc but I don't care what others think - to say it's an amazing drive is a massive understatement. It's immense.

Congratulations on the new car,bet it is worth the wait.
I wasn't keen on them up till this week as new owners like yourself are posting pics of them.
The rear doors and lack of flared arches put me off initially but I really like them now and font think it would look right with bulky arches.
Blue is the best colour too, looking forward to more pics

its the same as the one on the other thread that crashed. I still don't like the colour combo of light blue and black wheels and as I said there black wheels are sooooo 2005 .
I cant say I know anything about the spec but id expect it to be loud ,fast and a lot of fun! one thing I do know though is I cant see me ever having the cash to buy one!
just googled some specs, prices starting at Ł31000 and apparently it generates 1G of lateral acceleration. what does that actually mean?

my mate vince on here just collected his one too and 1st thing he did was take it to his brothers bodyshop to have the colour changed (not allowed to say what colour) and add some more agressive parts from the US so it should be at the ace cafe for our birthday meet in 3 weeks

Today's has all been about decontaminating. Well, after another 80 miles of fun
Was a ton of iron fallout, tree sap and tar all over it - glad I told the dealership not to touch it.

Come up glass smooth:

Polishing, waxing etc tomorrow.

Finally got it all polished and waxed today - looks awesome.
Then went for a nice drive round the countryside. Got it nicely warmed up and by christ is sounds fruity in Sports mode even up to only 4000 revs!
I purposefully didn't have a test drive as I wanted the first one I drove to be mine. I've not been disappointed in any way. It feels awesome.

Some updates....
Not really done much with it other than drive it, but put on some black wheel nuts and lockers - think it looks better all black.
OEM

Black

During prep for Ford Fair, a Focus ST owner from up the road came to have a chat about it as he'd not seen one before. Caught up with him as Silverstone so that was cool:

Had it at the end of the Ford Fair stand

All ready for TRAX last week, I don't normally like graphics and needless promotion, but in the spirit of the chavtastic show that is TRAX I thought I'd dip my toe in:

Then fitted the "rally slag" Kaylan mudflaps to protect through the winter:

I argued with myself for months whether to fit them or not. Now they're on I think they're quite good.
Then at the show:

Next to mates Fiesta ST:

Walking back to the car at one point, noticed a few people just stood staring at it. Probably saying "Didn't realise it was so metallic" as that's the usual comment..
