Hey guys so as my dad is not very good with computers decided i would do a thread on here so where do i start when we were kids he used have lots of xr4i's we allways wanted him to get another and he got 1 about 5 years ago and it got pinched we were gutted so at that he said that sit not again so the other day one came up on ebay his favorite colour white and after we battered at him for ages he decided he would go take a look so me now age 24 and still never driven the 1 car ive allways wanted to drive and my dad did a 4 hour tript to see 1 we looked ummd and arrd and left me and brother convince him he was mad to leave it and he is now collecting it saturday
I am so excited you wouldnt beleive haha


So the car its a white 44k miles guy had found in a garage of a hoarders house the car is as standard as they come it has all the genuine ford jubalee clips pipes the lot
so what its in need of
the back archs havig a slight tidy up just startin to be a bit crispy
The engine needs a tune up
The wheels need a refurb as not mint
The car need a full respray its had stuff all over it has scratches dents and marks on every panal but nothing major
An exhaust
A rear axle bush and as far as we thats about it

The milage is 44k and from all the old mots and history it has and the condition of the engine and engine bay we beleive it to be genuine it been off the road since 2000 and was only on the road for a year after been off the road for 10 years

Any way sorry for all the babbling gettin really excited to start messing with this with my brother and my dad and really goin back to my childhood days

We collect it on saturday

But heres the pics of off the advert any 1 that can help us with where to find some spare parts and any other forums or pages we can go on just to show it off and meet some people would be a great help

 

Plans so far are full respray over time
New rear archs
New standard exhaust as it has a sport full system with it but its to big

Grey interior
Convert windows to electric
Probably convert it to power steering depends how my dad gets away with it as he has a bad back
And make it as clean as and original as we can under the bonnet underneath the lot and use it as much as possible in the good wether and get to as many shows as we can in it

 

That looks like a very nice motor mate. Bet you couldn't believe it when that showed up on eBay. Very rare cars getting now.
A chap on here cossie4i has one with a cossie engine in it he would probably be best placed to tell you about parts.

 

I watch ebay all the time for them and my dad had said about it so we just had to convince him to go look at it i just wish he had beough it home yesterday so i could mess with it on my 4 days off haha

Found a few old pictures out of some of his old 1's as you can see at 1 stage he owned 3 at the same time haha has loads more pictures of them but dont want to clog up the page

 

Xr owners club would be a good club to join, there's a few guys on there who've got xr4is

Hi mate, I have a silver 4i, like others have said getting quite hard to find a decent one now

 

This ine isnt mint like but the milage seems to be correcr and its a great base car for the age of the car its been off the road about 20years of its life so can imagine there will be a few running issues but hey ho

Looks to be a very nice example that.

Your on the right forums for advice and spares but ultimately ebay is the main place to pick up the hard to find parts.

I wouldn't change the interior too much - it looks good, particulary those door cards they look very good -unless your old man is dead set on a grey interior I suppose it's up to him.

Well sorry to say it guys absolutly gutted the guy has messed us around he winged on sayin he didnt want my dad to mess him around if he kept it for him so they agreed a deal on the phone all planned booked a trailer to go collect it and he rang him today and told him he been offered a bit more money so he has sold it couldnt beleive it

So any 1 see a white xr4i for sale we are on the market im coz im gutted
