Mk4 mondeo titanium vs titanium x
I'm looking at buying a mk4 mondeo as a family car, only really looking at the titanium models but can anyone tell me what the difference is between a normal titanium and a titanium x?
With the budget i want to spend it will probably be a pre facelift 2008/9 model.
I went to look at a 2008 2.2 tit x over the weekend which was a lovely car, the only thing that worries me is buying a modern diesel of that age and the expensive issues they can give? I think I've almost convinced myself to take the risk!
What you all think?

Is that it?
I assume that the x just came with a few more options as standard then?
Anyone got experience of a 2L petrol mk4? I image they might seem a bit underpowered but never driven one?

From the factory the Tit X had nice half leather heated seats, larger wheels, adaptive lights (the ones that move around corners), and push button start - but it appears that some non-X models have been spec'd up a bit, so some may have some of those too.
There should be no difference in price between them when you get to 08-09 cars, so if you can find an X you may as well get it, as they have all the toys. But if I was you I'd look for the Titanium X Sport - the 2.2 is a great engine, and the Sports look a lot nicer.
Would definitely recommend a diesel over the petrol - they're quicker, a lot more fuel efficient, and very reliable. Mine's on nearly 150K and has only needed routine maintenance.
Edit: Found brochure here

Thats the other one, push button.
My cars got the adaptive lights, nav convers+, half leathers, radar cruise, audio prep, 18s, rear spoiler, factory tints and prob lot more
Gosh I love that car
Oh, and its only a 1.8tdci but gets to 100mph decently and gives silly good mpg, previous family car to this was a mk1 FRS

Thanks for the info. Was only thinking of a petrol as it might be less grief in the long run?
I really want a tit x 2.2 in black. Not overly bothered about the sport.
The one i looked at had 103k on the clock, nothing in the history about an expensive repair so i assume everything is original?
Ive never been bothered by miles as long as the car is good but then again I've always stayed away from DMF's, common rail diesels and dpf's.
Our mk1 focus 1600 this will be replacing is on 235k now and still going ok!

You can buy mine if you want a nice family car (it's black underneath)!
The Mk3 was a nightmare for problems, but the Mk4 a lot let so - the DMF, DPF etc can go on for over 180k without an issue. They're a very reliable car in general.
Thanks for the offer but it will be my wifes daily and there is no way she will be up for driving around in that!
it's also an estate which she won't have.
Does look nice though, i like the black grilles. Where are they from?

Mine is on 113k now, I have had it since 70k and has been spot on so far. If you look at one with the adaptive lights make sure they work ok by turning the headlights on then take some roundabouts to get them working. They are quite troublesome and will throw up an error on the dash.
Fairly sure the X also had the option of rear sun blinds that pop up out of the door cards.
I love mine to bits, got all the toys you could ever need, good mpg, shame I ruined the ride and handling by putting 20s on it

I have a light blue titanium x estate. Great car. Lots of toys. Inc folding mirrors. Rear blind. Heated half and half. Factory hands free. Auto. Fancy headlights.
It's an 08 plate. On 110k. Just had a full service inc cambelt. And having dpf delete.
Drives great. Looks good with roof bars. Big wheels. And there cheap at £3500
